Zetski dom

The new season at the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom” begins with the premiere of the play “Beneath the Two Suns”, based on the novel by Ognjen Spahić, dramatization by Stela Mišković and directed by Boris Liješević. 

Premiere is in the repertoire tomorrow at 8pm, while the 2nd showing is the day after tomorrow at the same time.

The cast in the new production of the oldest Montenegrin state theatre includes: Srđan Grahovac, Varja Đukić, Marija Maša Labudović, Vule Marković, Jelica Vukčević, Goran Vujović and Jelena Laban.

The play “Anna Karenina”, based on the novel by L.N. Tolstoy, directed by Mirko Radonjić, co-produced by the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom” and the Drama Studio “Prazan Prostor” Podgorica, will be performed on Friday, October 7 at 6pm at National Theatre Sarajevo within 62nd International Theatre Festival MESS.

The program will continue on Saturday, October 8, with the premiere of the film “I, Maria Gabriela, granddaughter of Queen Jelena of Savoy”, by Miodrag Bole Bošković, in cooperation with the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje. The screening will start at 8 pm.

On Wednesday, October 12 at 8 pm, the audience will see the play “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”, directed by Paolo Magelli, based on the text by Edward Albee. The cast includes: Ana Vujošević, Dejan Ivanić, Ana Vuković and Miloš Pejović.

“Anna Karenina” will be performed two evenings in front of the audience in Podgorica, on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 15 and 16, starting at 7 pm in the Vojni hangar Zagorič.

The City Theatre Podgorica will have a guest performance in the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom” with the play for children “20,000 miles under the sea” (5+), based on the famous novel by Jules Verne, directed by the Slovenian director Marko Čeh, on Saturday, October 22, at 1 pm.

This month in the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom” the second phase of rehearsals for the new play “Groupie” begins, directed by Ana Vukotić based on the one-act plays of contemporary Croatian writer Mate Matišić. The roles were entrusted to Ana Vujošević, Dejan Ivanić, Vulo Marković, Marija Maša Labudović, Goran Vujović, Jelica Vukčević and Vukan Pejović.

Realisation of the “Studio of the Royal Theatre” also begins in October. It is a free creative-pedagogical workshop for children and young people aged 8 to 16, which aims to develop imagination, education, talent and creative potential, under the mentorship of theatre director and pedagogue, prof. Petar Pejaković. The programme will last until June, and after the short selection, the children will participate in the realisation of a theatre play together with the acting ensemble of “Zetski dom”. The application process for participation will be organised in cooperation with primary and secondary schools from Cetinje.
