The play “Anna Karenina”, co-produced by the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom” and the Drama Studio “Prazan Prostor”, will be performed the day after tomorrow at the 62nd International Theatre Festival MESS in Sarajevo.
The play “Anna Karenina” is based on the novel by L.N. Tolstoy and directed by Mirko Radonjić. The cast includes: Sanja Vujisić, Aleksandar Gavranić i Pavle Prelević.
Actress Sanja Vujisić, who played the role of Anna Karenina, said that the entire process was very challenging for her.
“The work was challenging and when the director invited me, I was skeptical at first, but in the meantime I realised that this process really belongs to me,” Vujisić said.
In addition to notable criticism in Montenegro, at last year’s Festival of International Alternative Theater – FIAT from Podgorica, the award for the best female role won actress Sanja Vujisić, and the jury awarded the special award for reading drama classics to director Mirko Radonjić. In addition, the authorial and performance team of “Anna Karenina” won the BiSD 2022 special award (ex aequo) at the Biennale of Scene Design, Novi Sad.
International Theatre Festival MESS was founded in 1960 and it is one of the oldest festivals in East and Southeast Europe. This year, MESS will be held in the period September 30 – October 9 at several locations in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the audience will have the opportunity to watch fourteen domestic, regional and European theatre productions.
